We’re so proud of how our girls performed in the Go for Chess League Tournament in June.
Despite this being Kingsmead’s first official tournament and forfeiting two matches while awaiting the go-ahead, our girls secured an impressive 4th place out of 32 teams.
Our chess stars have been busy behind the scenes, with many participating in the Ekurhuleni trials and performing exceptionally well. Special shoutout to Kayla Wong for winning the Best U10 Girl Player award and bringing home a trophy.
Way to go, Chess Girls!
Last month the Grade Ones learnt a new phonic sound: ‘ee’ – what can I see?
They enjoyed making binoculars and then went outside into our beautiful gardens to look for things.
Happy Youth Day, South Africa! From the echoes of the past to the dreams of tomorrow, this Youth Day, we honoured the resilience, courage, and unwavering spirit of those who came before us.

We had a delightful high tea during our memory hour in June, where alumnae gathered to reminisce about their cherished moments at Kingsmead.
Hosted by Ms. Palmer, Ms. Wilkinson, and Ms. Bugarin, the afternoon was filled with heartfelt stories and laughter. Our alumnae also enjoyed a tour of our archives and museum, rekindling old memories and making new ones. Here’s to fostering lasting connections with all the girls who pass through Kingsmead College!
The final whistle blows on another amazing netball season!
Our girls left it all on the court. A massive thank you to the incredible parents and supporters who were there every step of the way.
