We are proud to shine a spotlight on Laura Russell, Class of 1992, whose career has been dedicated to specialist clinical work in voice disorders.
Laura is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist in the ENT and Voice Service at Oxford University Hospitals in the United Kingdom. She works as part of a multidisciplinary team in specialist voice clinics, supporting patients with voice disorders and receiving referrals from across the UK.
After completing her training at the University of Cape Town, Laura spent many years working in public hospitals and private practice in South Africa. She also lectured on the Voice course at UCT for more than a decade, helping to train future speech and language therapists. In 2021, she relocated to the UK to take up her current role.
Laura considers herself fortunate to work in a leading NHS teaching hospital while continuing to develop her expertise in the human voice. She is also involved in ongoing research into the psychological aspects of living with a voice disorder.
We are proud to celebrate the impact our alumnae are making around the world 💚
