Kingsmead College hosted the 11th annual Book Fair on Saturday, 27 May 2023 in association with Standard Bank – Wealth and Investment, Timberland and Media Partner Hot 102.7.

As Kingsmead College celebrated their 90th anniversary this year, the 2023 Book Fair was a nod to the school’s theme of courage.

Courage is not always about big, bold actions – it can be about small acts that have meaning to the individual. It could be never having read a particular genre of book, e.g. poetry or biography, and having the courage to take that first step. It could be that a self-help book provides the courage to undertake something one has avoided.

The 2023 programme provided a mixture of comfort and courage. Our hope was that the programme would inspire and strengthen book lovers, infusing us with qualities we never knew we had. Feedback from everyone who came was hugely positive as our Word Warriors reveled in good food and drink, in-depth discussion and heated debate.
