Freedom Month was a quieter month at Kingsmead College as we wrapped up the first term of 2021. We had a lovely Easter break and our Muslim community began observing Ramadan. Read our April 2021 highlights below.
It was so special to gather as the Senior Primary to mark the end of Term 1 and all that it held. We even had the privilege of listening to some musical items. It was a great way to celebrate the first term before the holidays began.
We wished the Kingsmead Community a blessed and happy Easter!
We wished our Muslim Community a blessed and joyful Ramadan!
We celebrated Freedom Day as a country on 27 April.
50 of the Grade 10s embarked on HerVenture in the Haenertsburg area of the Limpopo province during the holiday. This student-led expedition included hiking, paddling and community service. From the money raised at Dance Marathon last year, the Grade 10s donated 77 Dignity Dreams sanitary packs to some of the local schools. The expedition was a valuable learning experience as students were responsible for navigating, menu planning, cooking and setting up camp. Thank you to Townsend Adventure Lifestyle for facilitating HerVenture. Watch a beautiful video about their time during the expedition here.
