In November the Kingsmead girls embodied our value of service by giving back through our school shoe drive and our partnerships with Fight with Insight.

It gives us great pleasure to celebrate the talents of our learners – who challenge themselves and move forwards with courage and discipline. This November, we celebrated excellence in dancing, swimming and diving. We also enjoyed fun school activities like dress-up days, school visits and choir performances. Read our November 2022 highlights below.

The Kingsmead U13 Water Polo team competed in the St Stithians College tournament over the weekend of 24 November. This competition is extremely competitive, with schools from all around the country participating. Our Kingsmead squad performed admirably and finished fifth out of 14 schools in the event. Congratulations to all players.

What a special day it was for grade 000 – 0 parents when they watched their children perform at their year-end showcases. Seeing our students express themselves through music, art, and dance brought us so much joy.

It gives us great pleasure to announce that Mieke Costa and Ntuthuko Masetlwa have been selected as the Johannesburg Junior Council (JJC) 2023 representatives, after writing motivational letters and being interviewed. They attended their first meeting in October. We would like to wish them all the best for their year ahead on council!

Our Grade 7 students had a great time dressing up as silly sevens for November; they got to wear anything but their uniforms and carry their books in anything but their school bags. It was also great to see some of our Senior Primary members join in the fun by dressing up as students.

Our Grade 4 students went on their Service excursion to Fight with Insight, where they learned the value of giving back by making sandwiches for the children at InnerCity. They also learned about using boxing as a form of rehabilitation and had a great time trying it out.

After finishing their last exam paper, our matric students donated their school shoes to one of the charities that Kingsmead supports. Thank you, matrics for your generosity and kindness; we wish you the best of luck with your matric results. Continue to live your lives with courage!
