Women’s Month wasn’t the busiest at Kingsmead College as we were getting some well-deserved rest after the end of term. As always, we came together to offer each other comfort in more difficult times, our students dazzled us with their talents on and off the sports field, had fun while learning and were treated to some yummy food at our End of Term Braai. Find our August 2021 highlights below.

In the spirit of the Tokyo Olympics Games, our Senior Primary carried out some fun activities during their Maths lessons. They measured steps covered by frisbees and discuses, throwing ‘shot put’ items and doing curling with golf balls. Being outdoors whilst incorporating Maths thinking was enjoyed by all in Grades 5, 6 and 7. They loved playing in teams and had the opportunity to be uniquely creative while celebrating the Tokyo Olympic Games.
August marked the start of Women’s Month and August 9th was Women’s Day. We are proud to work with incredible women who provide care, guidance, knowledge and strength to the Kingsmead students.

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the sudden passing of our friend, teacher, and colleague, Nthabiseng Maseko. Nthabiseng has impacted the lives of many young students within the Junior Primary over the years. Her contribution to the Grade 0 team has been significant during her time spent in the classroom. Her beautiful smile and gentle manner will be sorely missed by all. She is remembered for her passion for teaching, her compassion for others and her commitment to her continued studies towards her teaching qualification.
Nthabiseng passed away on Saturday, 14 August due to illness. The Kingsmead College girls, staff, and parents would like to express our heartfelt condolences to her family during this period of bereavement. We hold her sister, Puseletso and her two children, Lerato and Thabo in our prayers and thoughts during this difficult time.
